Designing My Life, Not Just My Home: What I’ve learned from boardrooms, projects, and go-lives

What I’ve learned from boardrooms, projects, and go-lives

When I tell people I’ve spent over 25 years leading Fortune 500 companies through multi-billion dollar transformations, they usually don’t expect me to be obsessed with kitchen layouts and throw pillows.

But for me it’s all connected. In corporate life, I’ve helped teams navigate complexity, implement change, and create systems that support long-term growth. I’ve spent decades proving that clarity, alignment, and strategic design aren’t just “nice to haves” but foundations for real transformation. And I started wondering:

Why don’t we approach our homes the same way?

Most people build their careers with intention: they plan their next move, they invest in what matters, and they have a clear path from today through the next twenty years. But their homes tend to happen by default using whatever was already in the space, whatever’s on sale, and whatever you have time for between meetings and school drop-off.

So when I started designing my home the same way I approach major change initiatives (with a clear strategy, thoughtful systems, and alignment to my actual life) my perspective shifted:

  • I stopped decorating and re-decorating the same spaces.
  • I stopped buying new bins for old habits.
  • I started building a space that worked for me.

Your home is a living system that can either support your success or slowly wear you down. So much of what I’ve learned in the proverbial boardroom translates directly into the heart of your home:

→  Systems reduce friction.

→ Clear roles prevent confusion.

→ Your environment shapes your behavior.

→ And if you want long-term change, you have to start with how people actually live.

I didn’t create The Home Strategy Method because I struggled to stay organized. I created it because I know transformation is possible when you combine the right mindset, method, and motivation. This kind of power deserves to be in your home.

Your home is more than a place to live. It’s the most overlooked system in your life, and it’s the one that has the power to change everything.

Begin your Home Strategy transformation by uncovering why your space isn't aligned to your identity, purpose, or goals...and how to fix it.
